My Skincare Regime (With Pictures and Product Details)

I don’t want to talk ‘skin’ necessarily because I don’t want to sound like I’m trying to be an expert when the truth is I’m not, but I think we can all agree that since our late teens, we have all been through the trials and tribulations of figuring out what the key to great skincare is.

I’ve had my fair share of nightmares. I have very sensitive skin so I don’t really have the luxury of being able to buy and test products often because I haven’t got the patience to battle new batches of acne every other week. I have, however, finally found a routine that works great for me and I’m hoping that my skin will continue to glow as gloriously as it is right now.

Below is everything I use from day-to-day wear to the odd occasion. At the bottom of this post are links for you to learn about the products further and purchase if desired x

Soap:
Now having sensitive skin you’d think I would run a mile from soap, and funnily enough a few years ago I wrote a post ‘10 Anti Aging Tips For Your Twenties‘ where I suggested not using bar soaps, BUT with all the reviews I’d read about black soap, and how much of a holy grail it is for acne and eczema type conditions, I thought I would try a more gentle version (not as raw as other branded black soap) from Shea Moisture. I ordered it from Amazon for about £7 including postage and I still have roughly 1/4 of the bar left nearly a year on. It isn’t as drying as you would expect and I love that I know my skin is clean when it starts to squeak (you know what I mean, right!? because I can’t really explain it).
I was using this once a day in the evening along with a Bioré charcoal face wash in the morning but since that ran out I have been using it twice daily and it hasn’t negatively impacted my skin at all so not a problem.

Moisturisers and oils:
I can’t stress the importance of vitamin E! Vitamin E oil works to block free radicals from the body, which play a large part in the aging process. If you can fight off free radicals, then you can reduce wrinkles and keep the skin youthful-looking which is obviously a win. I use The Body Shop combo which usually you can buy a twin pack. In the morning I use the intense moisture cream and in the evening I use the overnight serum-in-oil (which I bloody love, by the way..). Both products leave my skin feeling fresh and radiant which really helps during this dreary weather.

Face masks:
I have two face masks – one vitamin E sink-in moisture sleeping mask from The Body Shop and an Acai and Goji Berry 2 in 1 mask from The Glow Pot. I don’t use them as dry masks as both have wet consistencies, however, I do use them twice a week as a treat to my skin. The body Shop sink-in mask can be applied overnight which helps my skin stay radiant and the goji berry acts as a mini microdermabrasion and absorbs excess oils from my skin. It is also full of antioxidants to help fight the signs of aging. I alternate when I use these as they’re both extras for my skincare regime and I love them both equally.

Eye creams and serums:
Maybe I’m paranoid because I’m not 21 like all you insta bitches but a major part of my skincare regime over the past year or so has been using eye creams and serums. If I can minimise my laughter lines and prevent further wrinkles from forming then I’m going to invest my money. I always get told I look 23 so I guess so far so good.
I use The Glow Pot’s pro-age eye cream in the morning and No7 youthful eye serum in the evening. To be honest, I’d probably have more luck sticking to one and using it twice daily but I love them both so much I’m not in a position to be picking sides.

All these products combined have saved my skin and really helped me stay looking youthful (not that I’m THAT old)…
I rarely get a spot; usually around my period If I am going to get one (plus my diet is 90% sugar so I can’t be that mad) and my skin tone has evened out a lot. I still get blackheads which are annoying but honestly that is the only downside to how my skin is looking right now. My skin is clear, hydrated and glowing without makeup which has obviously boosted my confidence and enabled me to feel buff without needing concealer or foundation during my day to day activities. The 2 in 1 scrub from The Glow Pot particularly has helped minimise sun spots which gives the skin a clearer complexion in itself.
